    flashing back and forth

Hi.Not entirely sure if this is the right place to post this thread but if not sorry.
I'm writing a book, well trying,im currently wrestling with that damn flashing microsoft word curser. Its about moving to England and my parents splitting up,I just wondered if anyone had an opinion on my style.I plan to start in England and flash back to finding out about my mother's affair and then back to england and then back to the parents story, giving each flash a chapter or so. Just wondered if it will be too complicated to follow or if you think it could work.
    Thanks.

I've read a few books done in this style, most recently 'The Red Hat Club.' I think it works very well, however --this could just be me-- I tend to rush through some parts to get back to the story that most interests me.

yeah i was worried about that and i guess its impossible to keep one aspect of the story as interesting as the other

I think it depends on the taste of the reader. There have been plenty of successful published works done in this manner so theres no reason why you shouldn't do it good luck

There are various stylistic devices you could use to differentiate the different parts, in the writing, in the form of presentation, in the chapter titles, like any writing, if it works ultimately depends on your ability and imagination, you will never know unless you try, if it does not you have the experience to draw on.
