Hogwarts RPG story thread

Dorjan Bones waved his mother goodbye with some regret. She'd driven him to the station and helped him find a trolley for his things but she would not see him onto the train, nor even to his platform. His heart racing a little, the tall boy pushed his trolley along, weaving through the crowds at King's Cross, clutching his ticket tightly.

This was it, this was the start of something more, something better than his previous life. There had never been much to smile about at home, and now things were going to get better. Dorjan regretted the relationship he had with his mother, she seemed to want to distance herself from her only son. Dorjan had never known why until his letter came by Owl. And then she'd distanced herself further.

Shrugging off the negative thoughts as best he could Dorjan began counting the platforms, reading the plastic numbers above each one. Soon he'd found 9 and close by, 10. But not 9 and 3 quarters and he looked around desperately for a clue. How was he to find his platform?

Alexis looked around confused her parents had to leave for work early so the dropped her off at the station alone. She looked around grabbing a trolly to put all her stuff on, and began walking towards where her station should be.

Alexis had no idea what was going on, she couldn't find the platform she needed and well that was fustraiting. Closing her eyes she breathed in contemplating her next move. when she opened them again she noticed another young boy looking just as confused as she was walking over to him she smiled,
"Hey, umm, are you lost too?"

Dorjan turned to see a young girl looking just as bewildered as he approaching him. He nodded for an answer, not daring to say aloud his platform number in case she was a muggle and he knew the wizarding world had to be kept secret.

He changed his mind at the last minute and answered "Yes," as well. He didn't want to seem like an idiot or as rude.

Dorjan's eyes were immediately drawn to the platform number on the odd looking ticket. Platform 9 and 3 Quarters, and below that he could make out the words Hogwarts Express. Relief surged through him coupled with aprehension.

"Hogwarts? Me too." he smiled down at her. She really was short, with bright emerald eyes that held his own.

"But I don't know how to get on the Platform either," he confessed, "Mum didn't know and there wasn't anyone else to tell me."

He cast around the crowded station, searching for others that may be heading to Hogwarts too in case somebody could help them. The big station clock pointed a quarter to eleven. They only had 15 minutes to find their platform and get on the train.

"My name is Bones, by the way." he introduced himself, "Dorjan Bones."

Alexis smiled as the boy infront of her confirmed her faint belife. Her smile only grew as he introduced himself,
"Alexis Wolff, It's a pleaseure to meet you" She looked around, and sighed, "My parents don't know about this kind of stuff either, so how are we going to get there?"

“Hurry up, Mum!” Izzy stood at the entrance to King’s Cross train station, anxiously waiting while her mother parked the car. She had already found a trolley and managed to haul her trunk onto it, but time was running out and she would soon miss the train if they didn’t hurry.

She glanced down at the ticket again. Platform 9 ¾, it said, at 11 o’ clock. Looking up at the large clock on the station wall, Izzy saw it was already twenty to eleven. She really was going to miss the train! She looked up fretfully, but to her relief saw her mother hurrying towards her.

“Sorry, dear, now come on.”

Together they hurried through the station towards platform 9. Izzy couldn’t help glancing at the clock as the practically ran; the minute hand seemed to be ticking by awfully fast. Finally they reached the barrier between platforms 9 and 10, drawing to a halt with just under fifteen minutes to spare.

“Right,” said Izzy’s mother, “Now. You remember how to get onto platform 9 ¾ ?”

“Yes,” Izzy nodded, brushing one of her blonde curls away from her face. “And you promise it won’t hurt?”

“I promise. Now, go on, or you’ll be late.”

“Right,” said Izzy’s mother, “Now. You remember how to get onto platform 9 ¾ ?”

Alexis' ears pricked up as she heard the mention of platform 9 3/4, looking around she found the person who said it, glancing up at the clock she fought down the urge to start to panic, breathing in deeply she walked over to the girl and her mother who had mentioned the platform and quietly asked,
"Umm, could you possibly tell us how to get on the platform?"

His ears caught the mention of his platform number slightly behind them and to his right, and noticed a blonde girl with her mother. The small girl asked politely how to reach the platform and Dorjan turned, bringing his trolley with him so he too would hear the instructions.

Xanthia and her parents had arrived in Ministry cars to Kings Cross station. Their house elf, Jacie, magically disguised as a human porter was first out of the vehicle, opening the trunk and loading Xanthie's heavy trunk, Owl cage and rucksack whilst the Ministry driver opened the door for them to disembark.

Excited and a little embarrassed, Xanthia held her head high and straightened her shoulders, gazing around at the station filled with muggles. Here and there small groups of wizarding families could be seen, the muggles were mostly unaware but the occasional Owl or Cat or even Toad were drawing curious glances.

Within a few moments, both her parents were walking quickly alongside her, her father tall and imposing, her mother slender and elegant carrying herself like a Queen. Well, she was descended from the Russian Wizarding Royal family after all.

Jacie trotted after them, to wizarding eyes a house elf but to muggles, just another person, pushing her laden trolley. Xanthia's new Owl, Gamayun drew some admiring looks from the occasional Wizard they passed and so she may as she was a Northern Hawk Owl and father had sent to Russia for her - a magnificent creature with striking amber eyes and magnificent black and white plumage.

With just 15 minutes until the train left, the Malfoy family swept past a Witch and two girls and a boy around Xanthia's age and through the barrier without a falter in their step, Jacie following along faithfully.

Within moments, they were on Platform 9 and 3/4 and before them was the magnificent red engine Hogwarts Express with many carriages coupled behind it. Xanthia looked around at the other wizarding families and their children. Tall seventh years, a couple of Prefects assisting children in to find compartments, a group of boys crowded around another admiring a broom and groups of girls hugging and giggling as old friends met again.

Xanthia hoped to make friends quickly, she didn't know anyone at all as she hadn't mixed with other children since they came to England.

Daine's taxi sped away, leaving her staring up at the huge entrance to King's Cross. She worried that she would miss the train, they had gotten stuck in traffic on the way here. She glanced at her watch and notice that she only had seven minutes left until the train left.

She got to the platform just in time to see a group of first year making their first journey to the platform. She walked through the barrier and immedietly noticed a friendly looking girl with long blond hair and icy blue eyes.

Diane swallowed and walked up to the girl. "Hi, I'm Diane. It's nice to meet you." It was always so hard to talk to people you knew nothing about.

Xanthia waited on the platform as her father and Jacie took her trunk and other belongings to the train and loaded them for her. Her mother spied an aquaintance in the crowd and hurried over to greet them. She was left alone for a few minutes, watching the students around her.

Then she turned at the sound of another girl's voice close by, addressing her. She looked up at the almost skeletal girl before her and returned the smile. The other girl was at least a year or two above her and Xanthia appreciated that somebody was making an effort to help make her feel welcome.

"'Ello, I am Xanthia Malfoy." she answered, her english accented as she'd spent so many years in Russia.

At that moment, Xanthia's father returned with the house elf trotting obediently behind him.

"We've put you in a compartment near the front of the train," he told his daughter, "Your Owl is in there waiting for you." he saw that Diane was clearly speaking to his daughter and raised his eyebrows quizzically.

"Who is your friend?" he asked, clearly wanting to know whether Diane was from a well to do family or not. Xanthia cringed, she didn't want her father to start chosing her friends for her as well. With relief she turned as her mother hurried back to the group, interrupting her need to reply.

"Qvickly my dear," she said, her own accent heavy, "Ze train will be leaving in just a moment." and indeed around them the last of the students were embracing their families and hurrying onto the train.

Alex sat, his news paper open, as the little children began to fill up the train. He had been sitting on the Hogwarts express for over an hour now, waiting for the children to show up. He had been charged with making sure that they arrived safely at Hogwarts. He had no doubt that they would but it was just to be sure. He sighed and went back to the cartoon page.

Diane heard Xanthia's dad ask something about her, and felt instantly uneasy. I hate it when people talk about me behind my back, especially when they're asking if I'm a mudblood or not. Xanthia's dad had said something about a seat in the front compartment, and Diane instatly wondered if the girl was a prefect, or if she was just sitting in the front because she was a pureblood.

She sighed and boarded the train sitting near the back where she could get a seat to herself. Madam Pomfrey would probably want her to check into the infirmary as soon as she got to school. Last year she had done really well at putting on some weight, but then her mom had called her fat because she wasn't a double zero anymore. She lost all the weight she had gained.

For a moment she wondered if you could stay at school over the summer, but dismissed the idea. A whole summer there would be lonely, but then again, there was that whole library to read... Maybe she could ask Madam Pomfrey later this year.

And then suddenly, Diane had a feeling that something very strange was going to happen on the train ride to school this year.

Xanthia quickly hugged her mother and father goodbye but when she turned to follow Diane onto the train, she noticed that the girl had gone - disappearing into the crowd boarding the Hogwarts Express. Slightly confused she followed the other students and then threaded her way toward the front of the train, looking for her owl and belongings.

She was four compartments back, behind the prefects and behind a compartment containing an adult reading a newspaper, presumably a teacher she decided. No other students had come in, clearly most of them preferred to steer as far away from authority as possible. Sighing deeply she settled herself down for the long ride to school, her Owl's cage beside her on the seat. She stroked her feathers thoughtfully.
