Jack laughed. "You just made more sense than anything I've heard in this room."

Eric nodded and considered the situation.
"James, have you got any puss left? I think it's only making us stronger. We could give it to people that can help save Flare, and they'll be strong enough."

James suddenly laughed and shadow spikes flew out of his skin and he laughed again,
"I think you're right!" his voice was upbeat and happy, "Though these constant mood swings are making me feel like a teenage girl!"
He jumped up in the air and batted the light bulb, letting shadows encase it, crushing it quickly,
"Yeah..." he smiled from ear to ear, "Let's go spread a disease children! Good thing it's helpful!"

The moment word got round to Ryan about Flare, he sprung from his seat in the lesson. Ignoring the teachers demands, he sprinted out into the hallway. He quickly shot into the hospital ward, where James, Jack and a kid he didn't know were all standing around.
"James," he asked, panting as he spoke, "is it true? Has Flare been taken?"

James nodded as his mood changed yet again. He walked up to Ryan and held out a finger with puss on it,
"Ryan... a disease is being contained in this room. This is the antidote. Rub it into you face."

Ryan was cautious with this puss.
"What does it do?" he asked, as he took it and rubbed it on his cheeks. He instantly felt a tingling, and a slight internal tugging in his chest.

Alaine entered the medical ward. Several others were there, and James appeared to be smering the strange pus which had made her feel so odd on another student's face. "What on Earth is that stuff?"

James looked at Alaine with a wide smile,
"Please ignore this happy go lucky exterior. The disease is making me experience emotions. Faster than I should." he smiled again, "But I believe that it enhances our powers."

Ryan looked up to James with shock on his face.
"oh no no no no!" he whispered loudly [It's possible] "No, I don't want my power stronger! The only stronger I can get is taking away memories! And that part.... god that just scares me. How do you get it off?"
He asked, as desperately rubbed at his cheeks, trying to remove the puss.

"Okay, so that's what the tingling was earlier. I wonder what I can do now?"

Jack yawned. "This is getting boring again. Are we gonna do anything? Or at least, can I go?"

James shrugged,
"Beats me." he told Alaine. He clapped his hands together, "All of you... fine some funeral clothes and meet back here in under five minutes or I'll have to come and find you!"

Ryan looked down to his current clothes. These were really the fanciest clothes he had.
"I'll stay like this," he muttered, still cautious of his new advance on his already powerful ability.
As Ryan waited, he's thought he'd try something.
In an extra thought stream, he created the word Flare, and with all his mental strength he projected the word across a huge surface area, hoping Flare would hear the telepathy and try to respond. This projecting drained Ryan of a lot of energy, but he continued, sure that Flare's telepathy would hear it somehow...

Ryan felt a thin connection run between him and Flare's mind. Using all his strength he pulled on that connection until he had a small access to Flare's mind. With the little link he had, he quickly surfed her recent memories for any clue of where she was.
There was none.
Oh god, Flare, it's so good to hear you again. Flare, listen carefully. I haven't got long, the connection is breaking, but you have no idea where you are. James has told us to prepare for a funeral. I don't think I'll have time to ask him why, but I'll try anyway. And for the love of god use all your strength to keep open this connection, but stay conscious. If it gets too hard, just sent one last message to me and we'll get on it. Don't worry, we're coming.
Ryan tried a thing that every telepather felt was difficult: speak while holding up a mental connection. Especially a connection this small.
"James," he gasped quickly, "I'm speaking to Flare now. What should she do?" the moment he spoke the words 'I'm speaking to Flare now' Ryan could see the hope and relief in James's eyes.
