What are you, inept?
Can't think of any combination of words? Like: Publishers, How to get published, how to publish writing, how to publish a novel, how to publish a short story, short story publishers, short story magazines. No?
Here's a link: www. duotrope. com
You're welcome.

Then let me suggest spending some time learning how to do effective Google searches. It's tough to be a writer without that skill these days.
If you can't find Canadian book publishers on Google, you're in bad shape.

Ok, seriously... I've tried all this, and I know how the hell to do it. Stop making fun of me. Jesus, I can't say on this on this site without someone makin me look like a prick. I have done google, but it comes up with a bunch of self publishing things, and private publishers. I don't have the money to self publish, and from what I hear private publishers aren't the way to go.
I thank those of you who have given me actual, good advice, but for those who insist on callig me stupid or inept, then please... leave. I've got enough of this on another thread of mine.

Come on, people. Believe it or not, there are still people brand new to this. Play nice...or you just might end up playing with me. No one wants that.
Duotrope is your best bet for finding, and learning about, a market for your work.

Brand new? This kid has been posting writing on here for over a year. (While currently saying he's to shy to show his work)
Nobody said he was stupid or inept. I suggested that he learn how to google. If he's getting all self-publishers he evidentally doesn't know how to include things like "-self" in his search. There is plenty of online help to teach people how to define search terms.
That would be a better long-term solution than asking other people to do the searching for him.

Sorry bout that, had bit of a rough day. But, I did have bit of a point. I found tons of publishing places myself just by searching up how to get published. Maybe I should have phrased it differently...

You should also try picking up a copy of the Writer's Market. It lists publishers--both American and Canadian--and gives tips about how to write effective cover letters, queries and such. It can be a pricey, but if you check out your local library, they might have them there. I live in Nova Scotia, and they have them at the reference desk.

Google "Places for Writers". Discusses lots of magazines and journals, world wide, but has a Canadian focus.
