The Metaphor Project

Hello. You can probably tell that I am new to this forum.

I come to you with an invitation, an invitation to contribute to a new project of mine/ours (ours, simply because it is not just my project - it belongs to all who take part).
I call it 'The Metaphor Project' (according to Google, this is quite a common title, but I'll depend on people to find the project through links), and it is based around the notion that nowhere currently on the internet can you (or, at least, I) find a substantial compilation of metaphors to be used in writing, but thousands of similes.
I have created a section of my site such that it is possible to easily submit metaphors, and to contribute to the cause. I dream of a great metaphor list, in common usage, but, of course, to achieve it I - we - need your help.

I will be updating the style, and technicalities of the code, to suit the cause better continuously.

My Site
The Metaphor Project

N.B. Is this site a 'rival' to the 'Writingforums.org', or are the two friendly?

I'm not -so- sure that serious writers will want to pick metaphors from an online list. Interesting idea nonetheless, though.

I consider myself a serious writer.

I have on several occasions searched for a metaphor; when writer's block develops, I find it helps to read through metaphors, or similes.

And indeed, it is largely for the novelty. I simply hope it may be used practically, also.
