I did, despite the fact that you got the link wrong. I'm underwhelmed; small memebership, small talent base, little posted work of note. I saw no evidence of the 'talented' reviews you spoke of. Just another bunch of kids who think it's cool to run a forum.

I think that is a little harshe, Mike. The guy thought it might be nice to start a forum. Every forum is going to have a small member base when it starts of. Hell, even this one.
Did this forum start with it's multitude members and talented writers? Did the creators of this forum get dumped on just because their forum wasn't as good as another? Jesus, man, give him a chance.

I think you mean harsh.
And it's not, it's an honest appraisal. Everybody and his brother thinks it's a cool idea to have a writers' forum, usually copying the format of this one. I have somewhere a list of about 500 of them. of which about 450 are silent wastelands of wasted electons, another 25 struggle along with the only real contributors being the moderators.
Forums thrive by either being the first or the best or by offering something different. WF was one of the first, is one of the best and is in many ways unique. Bookfrenzy's site doesn't tick any of the boxes.

Of course I meant harsh.
My point was, that when there is big forums like this one already established it is very hard for new ones to get any members, and members are what MAKES a forum good. If a guy goes on a forum with fifty members, then comes on this one, he would choose this one. So basically, unless your forum starts with thousands upon thousands of posts and many many members you are screwed. So just give the kid a chance.

I'll reiterate:
It's too late to be first. The alternative is to find a new angle and to offer something new. That forum hasn't made the effort, it's just one more like all the others. Why join a struggling forum that has nothing of note to offer when there are a dozen or so really good, thriving ones? You attract new members by having something to offer that nobody else does.

I find it hard to see the use in having another writing forum, when you've got this one to use. If the reason you made that forum is so that you can own your own forum, you've made the wrong kind! Come up with an original reason to have a forum, and really get it going!

Seems hard to build a community when it is not even hosted on its own URL. I got a redirect to z6.invisionfree.com/mysite/.....
