Sounds like somebody has been boning up on SEO, huh Steve. I've been getting into that myself.

Hey, Ashley, if you want a non-fiction author with unusual platform, talk to Steve. He's one of the more successful self-publishers around here.

Moorcock was amazing. Down to earth but maybe not of this earth. He's actually closer to you than me now - he lives in Texas due to a contre-temps with the UK tax department. If you want me to email you a copy of the interview, pm me. It also appeared in print in NFG magazine.

Ashley, stop being defensive. I made suggestions. It's up to you whether you act on them. End of discussion.

Steve: I thought it was an SEO thing but AC seems to only give provision for backlinks to your AC profile, not your own website, so it would seen that the beneficiary of any links is AC, not the writer. Seems an odd way of doing things to me - maybe I missed something.

Blogs, btw, seem to be extremely google friendly.

Why does the UK run off all their musical talent with taxes? Seems counterproductive.

I don't see the profile links as being that big a deal, Mike. I mean it doesn't help in backlinks to your site, but you link from your profile to your site and do show some traffic. Not to mention that it tosses your name out there for another possible hit on a search. (So plan your interview carefully around rich, long-tail keywords

Well I am a defensive person. Sorry but that's the way that I am. I didn't appreciate you telling me that I am doing it the wrong way. I appreciate your advice but I already said that Myspace isn't the only place I promote my work. I use several blogs, forums, local newspapers. I just mentioned Myspace because I currently do not have an instant messenger. So my only ways of interviewing authors is by phone, myspace, or email.

It's a crafty way of forcing some much-needed culture on the colonials.

It's not as bad as it used to be. At one point (mid 70's I think) under a socialist government the super-rich were required to pay a top rate of around 90% income tax. No wonder they all decided to leave.

I often wondered if that trend had anything to with the title "Exiles On Main Street."

Hey, seriously, Ashley just did me (in the literary sense) and here are the results

Author Cabo Bob Talks About His Latest Book, Mexican Slang 101 - Associated Content

Notice, guys, that the links I gave her to MY site and video are displayed right there, close at hand. They are direct linkbacks to my site. I think it's pretty cool, and definitely worth a half hour of going on about myself.

So if you're cool enough to get asked, give Ashley a shot.

OK, I give in.

Ashley, if you're still around, PM me. I'm obviously not cool enough, but I have an interviewee for you.
