And I understand what you are saying as well, but allowing this garbage would be comparable to allowing publishamericadotcom to advertise on your site.

Maybe so, but to delete it completely would be to deny any prospective mark to walk into an arrangement unaware of the pitfalls, and indeed (if Katarina/Kimbro is legitimate and we missed something, however unlikely that may be) would deny Kimbro the right to reply.

We're not allowing it. We're challenging it.

It is a total catch 22!
Regardless of what some of us know about this kind of BS, he/she/it will undoubtedly suck in a couple of "Writers".

Hey Katarina,
If I write the word 'mushroom' 80 thousand times and call it a book, can I still post it on your website?
Don't worry, I'll still pay you 100 bucks. I just want to get my work onto the editor's desk. My greatest book ever! "Eighty Thousand Mushrooms - a novel"
These other people are giving you the benefit of the doubt, but I say that if you don't know that you're cheating people then you've got a double digit IQ.

It's not catch 22 - you don't expose poor practice by ignoring it or hiding it, but by exposing it. And yes, she may suck in other writers, but I doubt it will be anyone who reads this thread. Job done.

You under-estimate the power of stupidity.

Amen. Always err on the side of permitting rather prohibiting in such matters. I don't think anybody reading this will blunder into that site (unless they are REALLY oblivious and have it coming) whereas they might have it this thread wasn't here.
In addition to all the publishers salivating to get their hands on MS's from people who have to pay big bucks to get them out there, I would like to see where this "author" has been published.

Never - If a company attempts to charge you to join their affiliate program - run like hell.
Hey Kimbro the same is true in publishing!

Why should I pay $100 for your "Members Only" area when I can get better information out of my Writer's Digest two-year subscription?

That FAQ is pretty hilarious, all right. Making money with "affiliates" is on a par with raising chinchillas.
