Places to submit
Does anyone have a website showing places where to submit short stories or articles? I've been looking on google and haven't really found what I've been searching for. I'm not wanting the sites that just post your stories, preferably I'd like magazines or something similar that will pay you.
Do they have a list of places to submit and what genre or type they're looking for? Any magazines that specifically are about that? I know there were some cartooning magazines similar to that, but now I'm looking for one geared towards writers.

WF's Online Resource Guide for Writers
Once there, look specifically for listings for Duotrope and Ralans. They are the exact type of thing you're looking for.

If you checked google you did not check hard enough. Duotrope.com is the best I have used online. Also check out writers market. writers market online charges a fee, but you can check the book out at the library or sit in barnes and nobles and browse through a copy.

Duotrope very good.
Ralan.com is another, particularly for SF and genre publishers.
Writers Digest Magazine and The Writer are the two big print mags in this field. WD publishes the yearly Writer's Market, which any library will have.
But I think you need to work on your googling techniques. Refining your searching should turn up a LOT of stuff.

Check out the Links page on my site at The Creative Cauldron - Home and you'll find markets for writers.
If you search Google for things like Writer's Deadlines, you'll find thousands of markets.
Have Fun,
Jeff

Yeah I looked over the site. But at this point I'm really only interested in sending to places where I'll get paid for. Whether I get rejected or not doesn't matter as of now. I'd just like to get experience doing it.

Than do it.
Go to Barnes and Noble right now with a pen and notebook. Take the Writers Market from the shelf and sit in one of the many chairs that they have all over the place. It is easy to search that book for the kinds of markets that you fit with. Jot down the information of the places you want to send to and do it.
Most listings in the Writers Market pay money. The listing itself will tell you whether they pay or not so you wont have to spend time researching that aspect.
It takes a little work, but can be rewarding. Be like a sneaker, and just do it.
