Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but for a tremendous amount of tips and solid information, check out:

Her "for writers" section gives a great deal of advice for anyone who is currently wanting to learn more about the process of trying to get a novel written and published.

I found it to be extremely beneficial. Hope it helps someone else as well.
