The Young Writers Society
The Young Writers Society is an awesome writing site for writers of middle school, high school, and college age. I haven't been here at WF in a really, really long time (which admitadly was due to all of my friends leaving here for WB) but I later found YWS and it has been very helpful to my growth as a writer. It has now been listed twice in Writers' Digest top 100 sites for writers, if that means anything to you folks out there.
The Administrators are active, the Moderators are lovely people, and the site is wonderful. I figured I'd come by here, say an aquard "hi" if anyone remembers me xD and guide anyone who cared to this site.
If you come around and wish to look for me, my username there is Claudette.

Do they kick you out when you aren't young anymore?

Actually, I haven't figured that out yet XD We've talked about it since the site is called "young" but the age range is from around 13 (and younger, occasionally) to the early twenties.
The admin (Nate) is 23. But the oldest member I know of is Fishr and she is 25.
I know when I first joined there was some 30-year-old running around the site, but I think he got banned more for spamming and being annoying all around.

Will the name of the forum change when its young members aren't young anymore if they aren't to be banned?

Hodge, as you always are this kind of person , you're asking me something that I have no clue how to answer. Seems kind of superflous for now, at least...I'm sure Nate will take it into consideration when we have 35-year-olds mixing in with the 11-year olds...ha ha.

So, does "young" in this case refer to a state of mind? If a 60 year old who's still a child at heart were to join, would she be welcome? What if a 14 year old who acts like he's 40 were to join? What then? Huh? Huh?

-Waves to the fellow YWS person- I sure as heack hope they won't kick those who aren't "young" any more out. o.O I plan on sticking around that board for as long as possible. And I concur with everything said about the admins/mods there, they're awesome. ^_^

I've tried to register to YWS but it tells me:
Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 535 auth failure
DEBUG MODE
Line : 132
File : smtp.php
OH WELL.

I keep getting those every time I post on YWS, but then it seems to go through anyways. Weird.

Heh, I'll tell the Admin that. We have a few bugs running around since we did a sever switch last week. Sorry! Keep trying back though, I'll fix eventually.

If it's saying the email address is all ready in use, my guess is that your registration did, in fact, go through, despite your receiving that error. I'd say go ahead and log in with whatever you registered as- username and password- and see if that works. It's just a guess, but that's what I'm thinking happened. o.O
