Need Writer for a videogame
Im being humble here, this is not my strong suite. I can draw, program, use almost every program made for the PC but sk me to write something and Ill fail terribly. Not to mention my grammer isnt so good and i cant spell most words over 10 characters correctly.
The game is going to be 2D but I want the story to be very good so gameplay dosent matter. Things that the game can have.
Interactive Lighting
Fully Functional zelda like fighting
Neato weather effects
Lots of other cool bits and bobs.
There could also be voice acting if I can get everyone oranized properly.
My crude story:
They say when enough people belive in something that it will be born from thier minds. An entire civilization belived in a false god and as it grew so did thier belife. When the civilization had a massive disaster they prayed and prayed and prayed until the god came to be. It is now your job as the player to help your civilization grow and keep it safe from other gods and monsters and other stuff like that. There can be so much more put into this but I need someone with more of a creative mind than mine to make it. I hope to find someone like that. Thanks in advance
If you would like to conatct me please leave a message here or pm me or drop me an IM at jutinker@hotmail.com
Thank you people.
Heres a look at what could be possible or how the game would look.
Alot more is possible, There could be a stylized type of graphics like tim burton or something, I dont know. Just someone please help me write something.

You haven't really given the possible writer enough information.
First, is this paid?
Next, what do you want? A game script? Scripted dialogue? Promo materials?
And, yeah "gameplay isn't important"...um, it always is, and the gameplay demands will inevitably change the script.

paid-no
a game script and dialouge.
I know that when people see no pay, they automaticly say. EFF this, i want cash. But you could be a part of something pretty cool so just give it a chance.
And I didnt mean that gameplay isnt inportant persay (if i spelled that correctly) I ment that its already a pretty strong engine and not much work needs to be done with it. All we need is a script by some talented young or old guru of the writing arts. Some master of the sword and pen ya know.

How would we know that you're really determined to finish this game? I've written a couple of vidgame scripts myself, but the creators would suddenly tell me that they've "gotten tired" of making the game.

Thats like asking how do we know that were going to live tommorow. The only problem I have had with finnising a game was the cooperation with other people and thier failures to meet deadlines or quiting.

So, you're really confident that you will finish this game?

One problem right off the bat is that one would have a tremendous time trying to avoid gravitating towards Actraiser's plot, which sounds tremendously similar.

I think you should probably pay whoever decides to write this, otherwise I doubt highly you've get a strong response. Even if we have your word that you'll finish this game, if that person chosen spends a great deal of time and it all falls through afterwards, then that person has wasted their time.

I would consider something like this, if there was pay involved. I used to write video game stories alot when I was little, and I played zelda and final fantasy games all the time. I would think you might be able to do something like this:
"you're interested in writing the story? If you come up with a script and I like it you will be paid X dollars for it."

Immediate interest right here. Pay would be nice, as it would ensure that it would get done and all my (our) work wouldn't be for naught. But, i suppose that it isn't all that terribly important.
So, yes, sign me up. Contact me with any further info if you can.
