Kamisama has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Something that always gets me is how is something still considered non-fiction if it has things changed. It's no longer the "truth." Nor is it factual as things happened in time. There may be fundamental attribution error when observing other people, but such a thing is common since people are not psychics. I don't think judging one's personality or appearance should be illegal. But if it crosses the line of prejudice or discrimination, then it is illegal.

...where's that PET and MRI machine of mine...

Just as a point, the suing is the easy part. To have someone win a defamation or libel suit is another matter.

The real question is, would the person sue you? If you're familiar with the work of David Sedaris, you probably know that he often uses his family members in his stories, not always in the most flattering of light.

However, I don't think any member of his family has ever sued.

If you're really curious, you may want to show them the story, and ask them what they think of it. If there's any danger of them suing you, you'll probably find out at that point.

Quite often the point of a libel suit isn't to win, particularly if the persoma you may have defamed can afford a good lawyer. Most defamation cases could be fought and decided in a week or two, but the good lawyer will drag it out and force the cost so high that the cost of defending it will bankrupt you.
