Don't think I could write a romance novel - not one that anyone would want to read anyway. But as a matter of interest - how wide a market can you service? I mean, Mills & Boon sell hundreds of thousands of Romance novels world wide - how much can you compete? How 'big' can you make an author of this or any other genre?
I'm sure you can read between the lines here...

I'd concentrate on Europe. In some countries, like Holland, there is a growing feeling that not enough romance novels get translated. So anyone who can provide new romance novels in Dutch will sell nicely.

Well, I miss on two counts there! Romance, and Dutch. Sorry.
Danku

How about a high fantasy, that is really a romantic epic. Too bad I don't have a novel, it is a screenplay, which is obviosly by writers perspective not even a literature. It would be kind of you to see a segment at my other thread (too much or too little writting), and tell me what kind of potential would it have. I know it is so hard to judge something by a segment

I have no personal experience or knowledge of NF Publishing, so I looked them up on Preditors and Editors.
Here is what Preditors and Editors had to say about NF Publishing:
NF Publishing: A small publisher. Also offers self-publishing. Link closed. 5/28/07: P&E has a report they're being sued for non-payment.
I note that Nickie, the original poster, has published a book via Publish America.

NS, Nickie is the founder of NF publishing. Nickie Flemming Publishing. It's too bad about that P&E thing. I'd heard some good things about them. Hopefully it'll be cleared up soon. She worked hard to get the company going.
Wish you all the best, Nickie.

Nickie is no longer a part of NF publishing, and hasn't been for some time. I believe she's concentrating on writing her own novels now.

Stacey Kohan took over the operations of NF Publishing and duped several authors out of royalty payments, provided empty promises to them and threatened to sue some even though she had promised to pay them what she owed them.
She had gone to three different printing presses and they are aggressively seeking financial compensation for money owing. Two printers, she owes about $40,000.00.
What did she do? She dropped NF Publishing all together and ran. She now has a new publishing company called Southwest Publishing where she retained some authors to her side because she played the "victim" card and deceived them into thinking she had not done any wrong and it was these other authors who were in the wrong.
I being one of them.
That is why Stacey Kohan is being sued for non payment and fraud.

Thanks for posting that, Seattle. NF was always above board when Nickie was in charge. I've forwarded updated info to P&E.
