CONTEST: Monthly cash prizes for authors at Wincyclopedia.com

Like the Wikipedia, Wincyclopedia.com is an open-source reference site that anyone can edit. Unlike the Wikipedia, Wincyclopedia offers cash prizes for the writers who contribute.

Wincyclopedia will be awarding four $25 prizes on April 1, 2006, and will be awarding monthly prizes thereafter.

1. The writer who writes the most read article in the month of March 2006 will win $25.

2. The writer who writes the best article (as judged by the Wincyclopedia editorial team) will win $25.

3. The writer/editor who makes the most contributions will win $25.

4. One random editor/writer will win $25.

Wincyclopedia.com accepts articles on any topic. For examples of some of the hundreds of articles that have already been submitted, visit the Wincyclopedia.com Web site:
http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/index.php?title=Special:Allpages

You can also find out more of some of the other authors who have already contributed to Wincyclopedia.com:
http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/index.php?title=Author_Index

There is no cost to participate in the Wincyclopedia.com writer's contest, and no limit to the number of articles you can contribute.

I registered just the other day for this site... I have not written any articles yet, but they give you a list of the most linked to articles, so it is easy to find a topic to write about:
http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...al:Wantedpages

One piece of advice about the site is that you have to be registered to win prizes as a writer or editor, but registration is painless. And you just have to be logged in when you write the articles.

Contest Update

Hello Group:

I just got this email from Wincyclopedia about their writing contests:

Hello Wincyclopedia Author:

In celebration of the re-launch of Wincyclopedia, we have decided to offer a special one week author contest. This contest is in addition to all of the other monthly contests that are available for March 2006 (you can learn more about these by visiting: http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...Current_events ).

For the week of February 27th through March 5th, Wincyclopedia is going to award $20 to the author that contributes the most articles to Wincyclopedia.

A few notes:

If you are looking for ideas on some of the most wanted articles, you may want to visit: http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...al:Wantedpages . You can just click on any of the “red” links and begin writing the article.

We look forward to your new articles.

Best of luck,

You just have to go to the site:
http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...ing_an_Article

You have to register (that is simple too):
http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...cial:Userlogin

You can write on any topic that you want or write on their suggested topics:

Hope that helps.

I just got this email from them... looks like they are running a bunch of contests:

Hello:

Our kickoff author contest was won by Sherri Granato of Star Junction, Pennsylvania, USA. Sherri (http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...er:Sassyass_64) won $20 for her contributions last week.

We are offering a new contest in addition to our monthly contests (http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...Current_events) . We are calling this our Top 50 Secret Article Writing Contest (yes I know it is a little long). The rules to this contest are simple. There is a Top 50 list of the most wanted articles in Wincyclopedia (http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...al:Wantedpages) and we have selected one of the articles as a Secret Article. The author that writes the article for the Secret Article wins $10.

The article must pass the muster of our editorial staff (i.e. you can not just write one sentence and it has to be written about the topic). Remember, to win any writing or editing contests you must be registered and signed in to win and have your account credited.

You should also add this line at the top of any article that you write: Article Written by: [[YOUR NAME]] - Click to visit other articles by this author
This will link readers back to your author page.

Look forward to reading your articles and good luck!

Hello All:

I got another update from Wincyclopedia on their Secret Word writing contest... sounds like they are adding cash to their prizes:

Hello:

No one won the Top 50 Secret Article Writing Contest for yesterday, so we are making this a progressive contest. We will add a $1 per day to the prize until someone writes the Secret Article. So if someone finds it today, they will win $11.

We are offering this new contest in addition to our monthly contests (http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...Current_events). The rules to this contest are simple. There is a Top 50 list of the most wanted articles in Wincyclopedia (http://www.wincyclopedia.com/wini/in...al:Wantedpages) and we have selected one of the articles as a Secret Article.

You should also add this line at the top of any article that you write: Article Written by: [[YOUR NAME]] - Click to visit other articles by this author
This will link readers back to your author page.

Look forward to reading your articles and good luck!
