Writing Contests?

I am looking for competitions accepting full-length novels or scripts. I would
love some recommendations. Any good ones out there?

Only one I know of that's close is the Writers of the Future contest, but that's short stories and novelettes...I think it's 11,000 word limit. clicky

the top 3 for scripts are chesterfield, nicholl, and disney... next level down includes sundance, final draft, asa, and a few others run by reputable companies in the industry... anything farther down the list isn't worth entering, imo...

as for novels, i don't see much, if any more benefit to be gained by entering a contest, over submitting to agents/publishers...

the main thing is to check out any you are interested in, before submitting... there are jillions of outright scams out there, along with an equal amount of 'contests' that aren't worth the price of admission...

Thanks, I'll look into them! I saw writersdigest.com had a contest for novelists. Do you think that would be worth entering?
