Talking tired of writing for money

I've searched for a magazine that would publish my poems and stories forever! But all the places that I found, you either had to enter a contest to win money or you had to pay a submission fee....Well as far as I know, I found a site that I think is pretty good and it's not a contest either... Http://www.shadowpoetry.com is a site that I would recommend checking out. Oh and when you get there you have to click on the Quill link in the little magazine section...

Saw an ad on the page, so I'll just make a little note:

Beware of Vanity Press; If you have to put down a lot of your own money or buy a compilation book to be published, it's probably a scam.

you clearly haven't been searching in the right places... there are scads of magazines and literary reviews that publish stories, many that accept poems... and none of the legit venues will charge a reading/submission fee... you need to get yourself current edition of writer's market or subscribe to its online version [only 3 bucks a month]...

or, go to www.duotrope.com for a very good free source of info on venues for short fiction and poetry markets...

but before you send anything to anyone, be sure to check it out at preditors & editors...

hugs, maia
