Free webdesign for writingforums.com members

For a lot of writers here Livejournal or Myspace or Blogspot works just fine, but I know there are plenty more that would like a more professional website to showcase their work and to sell books, but it may not be worth spending hundreds of dollars as some companies mandate.

Or there may be other reasons, who knows, I'm not trying to talk up sales, but for those interested Ye Olde Web Design will be offering free website construction. It is pretty straightfoward: you will get a professional looking website, for no cost. Nothing fancy, nothing big, just a simple efficient page that gets your message out. There is no limit on content or pages and it is completely custom work, so you can offer input, but please use common sense and be reasonable, you won't get a huge page created entirely in Flash, you'll get what you pay for but it won't be junk either.

The purpose is twofold: the portfolio is bare and could use several more sites. Also, if you wish Ye Olde Web Design can purchase your domain (with your money of course) and host it for the cost of $2/mo, no setup fee or minimum amount to be spent, this is to eventually eliminate the hosting bill. If you have your own hosting, or prefer to use free, or that is too much (you could use http://writingforums.com/showthread.php?t=47096 even), then it isn't a requirement. The focus is expanding the portfolio with a secondary objective of breaking even on hosting.

If you would like to see more examples or if you are interested please PM me.

That's quite an offer, Drzava. I can imagine you getting inundated quite quickly! It's a good way to build a portfolio quickly.

For your interest my portfolio can be found at http://design.write-across-europe.co.../examples.html

There'll be 3 more going up there in the next week or so - business is brisk! I've also just contracted to a new Literary Agency to design their website, and sites for all their authors.

PM me with some examples of your work; I'm getting to the point where I'm getting more enquiries than I can deal with. Maybe I can send some work your way?
