The Following Publishers

I was browsing the net, looking for small presses/publishers.

I came across the following and would like to know if anyone heard of them?

1) Whitmore Publishing.

Has some basic info on their website, but nothing detailed. They require you to submit for information.

www.whitmorepublishing.com

2) Booksurge Publishing (subsidiary of Amazon.com)

www.booksurgepublishing.com

They have basic information, and form to fill out for information to be mailed out. Nothing specific. POD company looks like, but through Amazon.com

3) Tate Publishing (Christian Based POD)

www.tatepublishing.com

Claims to pay higher royalties and place books in main distributions for major outlet bookstores.

4) Jenkins group (which looks to be a POD, but a higher end than lulu.com)

www.jenkinsgroupinc.com

have you checked them out with preditors and editors?... here's their listings on two of the firms:

Tate Publishing: Not recommended. a subsidy publisher.

Whitmore Publishing Company: Not recommended. A small publisher believed owned by Dorrance Publishing.

...and whitmore is clearly a pay-to-be-published vanity press... if you can afford to pay to have your books in print and are willing and able to do all the marketing yourself, their books look good in their online tout, but i'd strongly suggest checking out the actual article first... most pods put out inferior product, with many typos and other goofs left as is...
