The Worst Witch (1978) Copyright
Can someone tell me who owns the copyright to the book series "The Worst Witch", written by Jill Murphy?
I'm interested in finding out who controls the copyrights to the work, including the movie rights.
From what I can understand, no publisher owns the rights, so I'm guessing that Jill hereself owns them, but then I went to the US Copyright website and did a search, nowhere did I find where she had copyrighted the books. I found this British Copyright organization, but It didnt have a search feature so I was unable to tell if she had it registered in Britan or the US.
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Landon Parks,
Firestorm Entertainment Group

as you may know, if she's a us citizen/resident, the work is considered 'copyrighted' in the us, even if the author didn't register it with the loc...
if you've seen the books, the copyright info will be on the page before the title page... if you haven't, why not just look them up on amazon and query the publisher?...

here's what amazon has:
Product Details
- Reading level: Ages 9-12
- Paperback: 112 pages
- Publisher: Puffin Books; New Ed edition (September 27, 2001)
- ISBN: 0141314508
if you go there, you can look inside the book and see the info page, with copyright data... i tried to copy it here for you, but it's in pdf and won't allow it...

You know, we really should start charging for this sometimes. Then the money can go towards maintaining the website so people don't just join for onwe bit of simple information they could have found themselves.

'we'?... well, I did the searching, lg, so who would charge what for what, and how would the fees get into the forum's coffers?... so, charging isn't really an option, if you were serious [which i suspect you weren't]...
i know the kid coulda gotten it on his own, but i was feeling charitable at the moment, and gave in to an altruistic impulse...
hugs, m
