Carnival Macabre is a magazine dealing with the darker side of art and culture. Focused on dark/macabre art and fiction/poetry, articles about the occult and art,interviews with writers and artists.
Full submission guidelines:
Short Fiction(flash fiction, short stories, poetry):
Horror and dark fantasy, yet we will consider anything that is weird enough, no matter what genre it belongs to. Feel free to submit anything that you think may find a place within the Carnival’s pages. Humor is all right, as long as it’s sick, or at the very least, twisted.
Profanity and sexual situations are fine, as long as it’s not clearly pornographic.
Reviews(movies, books, comics, music, websites, magazines) - Horror/Cult/Macabre
Interviews (artists, writers, directors, or anyone that has something interesting to say. Maybe your grandma?)
Articles
Photography (has to be unusual, dark and/or horror related)
Art (all mediums, not half assed sketches though. Horror/Dark/Macabre)
Anything else you think will interest us, submit it. We even accept cadavers (whole or parts).
Word Limits:
Fiction: we accept stories from 500 to 6000 words. Flash fiction welcome.
Poetry: 75 to 300 words. No haikus.
Reviews: Should be relatively short, no exact word limit through.
Articles: Depending on the subject matter. If it’s interesting, we can work something out no matter what the length is.
Reprints:
Reprints are fine.
Simultaneous submissions:
No. We like to know for sure that we can use anything submitted to us.
Multiple submissions:
Feel free to submit as many works as you want.
Submission Formatting Guidelines:
Word files, or rtf.
In the body of your email and in the word file itself, include your name, email address, estimated word count, and a brief bio written in third person.

Carnival Macabre is not a paying gig. We really can't afford it, since we're only doing this out of pure love for art, and nothing more.
