Looking for a free website to publish / upload my stories

Does anyone know of any free websites where I can upload my stories to get some feedback and reviews? Making money isn't off my stories isn't my main concern right now...I'm just looking to get a little publicity for them. Does anyone else think this would be useful.

Yes, why don't you try posting samples of your work here? You'll certainly get feedback.

while you'll certainly get feedback here, there's no 'publicity' value to speak of...

the downside to posting your work anywhere on the net is that paying venues won't buy it afterwards, since it's been available for free... but if that won't bother you, all have to do is post them in the fiction section here...

this IS a free site, so i don't understand why you're asking for a lead to others...

He's probably searching for a site which allows you to post all your works on your own webspace for free, and have a clear view of what you have written, with an option of getting reviews and comments on them.

As I agree with the person that it would be easier and more practical, you will receive a lot less critique as you would want to, since not a lot of people go searching for sites of unknown starting/novice writers.

So I suggest you post your stories here, unless you really don't want to (for some odd reason, lol). Then you ought to search at sites like www.free-webhosts.com , http://thefreesite.com , etc...

Although you will be off a lot better sticking with WF.

Ruben

EDIT: I was searching the net, but it seems that --to my knowledge-- there are no such sites which allow you to freely add your stories and get them reviewed. Unless you use a free guest book kind of script for every story But if you are going trough with this site thing, I'll make you a script which allows people to review your work, but only if you're certainly going through with the website, since I don't want to make something for nothing...

Well, this site is indeed a Great place to get your work reviewed. Depending what you are writing there are also additional avenues available.

Here are 2 avenues...
For article submission you have many Article Directory sites available to you.
This one is very NEW and has been receiving 500 visitors a day. Again it is very new. ( http://www.ArticleWebsiteBuilder.com ) It is FREE to JOIN

The second avenue are Writer sites. Again, I am partial to this one because I own it, but it is FREE and the site has over 100 authors which take the time to read and review your work. ( http://www.WritersGate.com )

FREE exposure...

I hope this helps.

My 2 cents.

If you're trying to attract publishers or agents, I suggest you send them a hardcopy sample with a query letter. If you want e-publishing or publishing on demand, that's a whole other ball of wax...not to mention ISBN expenses.

In another life I was a publicist. I could get an article about anyone in print in the newspaper or online... but the goal wasn't just to get in print for vanity. We wanted ticket sales, or attendance, or market saturation, etc.

What's your goal? What result do you want? Forget reviews...all you should care about is the opinion of the people who can buy your stuff, yes? Plenty of terrible writing gets published for that very reason.

Ultimately, getting your work out there is good. You can turn almost anything into a credit.

Good luck!
