Hollins University in Roanoke, Va., will host the first-ever Tinker Mountain Writers' Workshop June 12-18.
The workshop is your opportunity to develop the writing skills you've always wanted in a one-week experience at Hollins. Choose from ten one-week workshops in poetry, fiction and nonfiction - led by a remarkably talented faculty. With class sizes of no more than 12 students, you'll benefit from one-on-one interaction with your workshop leader along with in-depth class discussions. You can expect readings, manuscript reviews, and a variety of other activities developed specifically for your workshop.
This workshop will be unique in that the entire faculty will have a young and "edgy" quality. Most of them are newly established writers, which means that students will get an unusual combination of seasoned guidance and fresh advice. This youthful enthusiasm combined with serious literary accomplishment will make this a very dynamic program.
The registration deadline for the Tinker Mountain Writers' Workshop is May 20. For more information or to receive a workshop brochure, call (540) 362-6229 or e-mail
