The premier issue of Libbon, UK’s newest short story magazine will be published in June for a cover price of £3.50. We have a substantial budget to ensure that the first issue will be of high quality. This will not be a folded A4 stabled newsletter like others around. We are aiming for full colour, high quality paper with thermally sealed binding.
The ingredients however are at present missing and that is why we are launching a short story fiction competition in order to solicit these. Stories must be written in English with a maximum of 2500 words. All categories are welcome except poetry and children’s stories. First prize for the competition is £100, second £50 and third £25. The closing date is April 30th 2005.
We are aiming to publish around 10 stories in our premier issue. All published entrants will receive a complimentary copy of Libbon. You will be pleased to see your winning entries in print in a magazine with high production values. There is an entry fee of £3.00 per entry to cover administration costs.
Every journey requires a first step and this competition is our first step towards the regular publication of a high quality story magazine.
If you have a story of high standard please enter it, you’ll be glad that you did.
