PDF software?

Hey there. I am looking for a PDF converter that would be good for formatting a book. I have found a few for free online, but with no creative freedon. I am looking for a free one, but I will pay some for one. Anyways, thanks for any help!

Spudley is an unknown quantity at this point
A straightforward PDF converter would just convert whatever you gave it to PDF format without much chance to change it.

If you're looking for "Creative freedom", you probably want something that integrates directly to your wordprocessor.

There are some PDF generators available that act as a printer driver - once they're installed, you can select them when you print anything (from any program), and they will save the file as PDF instead of printing anything.

There are several products that do that, but I don't know of any freeware ones.

You might also consider looking into OpenOffice, which is a freeware alternative to Microsoft office. OpenOffice supports PDF saving as standard, so you can save your documents straight out as PDFs, no hassle. I use it myself, and I've done exactly that with some of my own docs, so I can vouch for how easy it is. (it also loads Word docs fine, so in that respect, it does work as a converter)
OpenOffice is available for download at www.OpenOffice.org

Hope that helps.

I'll give it a try. Good for manuscript making.

The best combo I've found is Robo-PDF that integrates directly into MS Word. You do all your writing and formatting in Word, then covert to PDF via a button on the toolbar. It's about $50. A lot cheaper than full Adobe Acrobat 6.0, which also integrates into Word, but for hundreds of dollars.

The only real limitation I've found in Robo-PDF is page size. It won't do anything bigger than standard sheet sizes. If you want to do big layouts, you need full Adobe.

Hope that helps,

What I've found is best is this software http://www.pdf995.com/

It seems similar to robo-pdf but free.
