GirlReaders.com Looking for Book Reviewers!

Hello,

I wanted to pass the word around that a friend and I have started a book review website. Basically, it's booking being reviewed from any genre .

Quote:
GirlReaders.Com is a collective of book reviews written by female readers. These books reviews focus on how the book is seen from a female perspective.
The URL is http://girlreaders.com if you want to check it out. We are looking for ONE or TWO more contributers/reviewers. We are looking for anyone that loves to read, can dedicate time to the reviews, and likes to read all sorts of fiction. We are mostly looking for female reviewers, although we will have a "token male" review section. Preferably females between the ages 16-45.

The site is nowhere near being complete, but we've got our start. We've not uploaded any reviews yet, but that will be coming any time now, possibly tonight. If you are interested . . . and are able to participate, please read this:

Quote:
If you are interested in becoming a serious contributer to this site, you can email an "audition review" to audition@girlreaders.com. This review must be clear, conscise, entertaining and completely your own work!. Any book reviews are welcome from any reading level or any genre. (please try to at least review books that are not run-of-the-mill Danielle Steel-esque; we want to have a large, diverse range of reviews, not just love stories and family dramas.) Also, please include a little about yourself.
The audition review doesn't have to be long, or complete, but just enough so we can get a taste of your writing style to see if it fits into our site (this means at least 4 paragraphs). Also, don't think you have to do a strict "book review" type of format. Be imaginative, relate the book to memories, compare and contrast, etc. Use those techniques you learned in college English

Also, don't apply if you can't write more that 2 reviews a month. We need someone who can write at least 3 or 4, and more than that would be fantastic. So in short, make sure you have the time to participate.

I think I will let this audition stay open indefintely (meaning you can apply even after the new reviewers are announced). After a week or two (by November 25th at least, possibly before), we will announce on the website's main page who the new reviewer(s) are (also those chosen will be emailed with the appropaite information). If we get 5 more people with incredible writing skills, awesome, we will think about adding all five.

Don't be discouraged either if you want to participate and you don't have time. Each month we are going to have 2-3 "guest" reviewers. These people can do one review a month if they are available.

We are still sorting out all the kinks, and restructuring and working out how things will be done, but it is something we are passionate about and hope we can find others to participate.

And if all else fails, and you don't want to review, but read reviews and discuss books we 've got forums.

Thank you,
Lindsey
