Sing! America Songwriting/Vocal Competition

Sing! America International, a New Nationwide Talent Search Has Cash Prizes! Also Features a Songwriting Competition!

NASHVILLE - Sing! America International, a new nationwide talent search, kicked off August 2. Talented singers and songwriters of all genres of music can enter one of three competitions online (http://www.sing-america.com ) or by mail. Prizes include cash and headlining the 2005 Sing! America International Show, which is currently scheduled to tour in China, Korea, Japan and the United States in 2005. The Sing! America International Show is an All-American revue-style show that features many styles of American music from the 1920s through the music of today.

Sing! America International offers talented American songwriters and vocalists the opportunity to fast-track their career by gaining major world-wide exposure. Winners will be featured in an international tour and exposed to media and the internet. They will also receive media and music industry training, and cultural instruction.

One of the 2005 tour stops will be at the China Youth International Art Festival in Beijing, China, where the winners from the Sing! America International competitions will represent the United States and meet people from many foreign countries. This festival is expected to be the largest musical event ever to be held in China

The three competitions include:

Songwriting Competition: Entries accepted August 2, 2004 through November 1, 2004. American songwriters of all ages and can submit any previously unreleased song of any style that embodies the spirit of America or the American people. Music industry judges will narrow the field to the top three songs and the American people will choose the winning song by voting online. Grand prize is a cash award and use of the song as the theme song for the 2005 Sing! America International tour.

Live Performance Competition: Entries accepted August 2, 2004 through September 1, 2004. American vocalists between the ages of 18 and 45 can submit an entry by mail or email. Music industry judges will narrow the field to the top twelve, who will participate in a live performance competition in Lecanto, Florida, (70 miles north of Tampa) on September 18. The winner from this competition will receive a cash prize and will compete in the finals competition in December or January.

Vocal Competition: Entries accepted August 2, 2004 through October 1, 2004. American vocalists between the ages of 18 and 45 can submit an entry by mail or email. Music industry judges will narrow the field to the top eleven, who will participate in the finals competition in December or January along with the winner of the Live Performance competition. Two of the top three winners will be chosen by the judges. The third winner will be chosen by popular online vote of the American people. These three winners will receive a cash prize and co-headline the Sing! America International Show in 2005.

Any chance you could keep us updated on how the competion goes. Though I am not qualified to compete in this sorta thing, I would enjoy seeing how it plays out.
