Australian Copyrighters

I was wondering if anybody here has some info or websites on copyrighters in australia. Also if I was to register my writing in Australia would I still be able to go through an American publisher and vice versa? Can someone from outside America (namedly someone in Australia) register their work with the Library of Congress?

I believe that is acceptable. While you can copyright the work in Australia, that would primarily be for protection there. Registering for an American copyright will protect you in America and any Country that has a copyright treaty with America. You do not have to be an American citizen for copyright protection in the US.
