Daminator

Hello all,

I'm new here, so I don't know if this is the right place to be asking, but my friends and I are looking for writers. Writers of short stories containing good visual comedy and/or character emotion and development.

We are a group of animators working on short films. We are currently working on a film for this coming year of festivals that is self funded. The idea is to get a few good ideas together once this is finished so that we have proved we can get a good short film done and we can start trying to get more serious funding for future projects.

Anyone interested? Any of you got a great idea and don't know what to do with it? Something that would work really well visually?

There are 4 of us working together at the moment. Our current project lasts 4 minutes. If you would like to look at some of my personal work and individual short films, then they are all on my website (address at the bottom of this message). We are lacking quality ideas for what to do next. We are animators, and can direct each other, but we are not writers.

Are you only looking for comedies? I have a friend who has an idea for a short film and may be interested in writing for you guys, but he's mainly drama (he's also extremely into planes and such)

Anything that grabs us really. Good comedy is great (but visual based stuff, not wordy verbal comedy), or challenging drama too if it grabs hold of us and makes us want to animate it. Emotional characters with depth and progression through a story is perfect if there's something that can get that into a few minutes.

For us, deep emotions/drama are very challenging to animate. Good visual comedy is a lot of fun to animate. Both look great on our demo reels and would go down very well at animation festivals.
