I'd not heard of this before, but a friend pointed it out this morning. Basically the idea is to crank up and churn out a novel of at least 50,000 words in the space of one month. There are no real prizes or anything - just a nice, fun excuse to get some writing done. Even if it doesn't turn out that great, *any* writing is good practice and a bit of fun.
