Cursive Matters

First, I wanna say 'gratz to both Bartleby and Spudley. You guys are still on the front lines, kicking ass and taking names. Good job .. no! Excellent job!

Now .. down to brass tacks!

Bartleby! I want another shot with you, man. We've met on the field of battle (as it were) before, and I was bested in fair combat. However; I have grown since. I seek to challenge that which, up until today I thought was insurmountable! I want the opportunity to get back some of what I lost, in the months I lay idle, recuperating from the savage beating I recieved at the tip of your pen...

There is no place to hide from the storm that is brewing here

Do you accept, sir? Shall we stand tete-a-tete once more? How about the final Sunday of August? The end of summer, when two titans collide or some such nonsense?

Clash of the Titans indeed!

But I get to be Zeus, damnit!

Of course I would be more than happy, to give you another shot at the big time. Could have been a contender indeed. I suggest short fiction, this go around. We covered the poetics already. With that said welcome back, paisan.

Oh good, you two guys are going to play again. Can't wait to read that one, could I take a plunge and write the starter for this one, or should we hand it off to the boss man. I just love a good fight!!!

Two blind molluscs in a knife-fight..

Great! Zeus! You can hurl your literary thunderbolts at me.. *grin* I am glad you accepted my challenge, although I never had a doubt that you would. You're just too kind, sir I promise to make it worth everybody's while.

Do I detect a hint of fear at the tip of your tongue, when you mention poetry? *insane cackle*

So, does the last Sunday of August truly strike your fancy? Not like I need the time to prepare or anything, but I would like the opportunity to re-read your previous posts in all categories to better size you up. It's a daunting task I have laid for myself, and to enter the arena unarmed would be a dishonour to you and I.

Jess .. I would be truly gobsmacked if you would supply the story starter. I don't think Crowe would object, as it'd free his already tired fingers from yet-another-task

I rushed home from work today so I could see what's going on.. I'm so excited I can barely breathe!

Many thanks for having me back, folks!

Paisan~

Did you say fear? I must have been hallucinating, or perhaps that was just one of my mental gremlins throwing wrenches in the works again. Once upon a time, I must admit I trembled at the thought of verse slinging against the mighter wordsmith responsible for such gems as Phagecrows in well whenever the hell it was, but those days are long past. So I propose this. Let's put it to the public to decide whether we'll be trading verse or prose. Will that work for you?

If you plan on researching the evolution of my work before the contest, do a fella a favor and give me the benefit of your always colorful commentary. Surely that's not too much to ask.

Looking forward to it.

Ganbatte

Let the public decide? It could work. It really could. Honestly, I'd like to try my hand at prose once more (I've been putting in long hours in the lab) ..

Yes! Let the public decide, if they have the gumption and gall to do so. Let's hear it folks!! Poetry OR Prose for the battle betwixt Bartleby and I? A show of hands will suffice.

This is gonna be a real party, I can tell. My conches are already singing to me!

'Colorful commentary' is my middle name, amigo. Consider it done!
