a subject indeed

Because the form only has 220 some odd members, i don't think it is as active as it could be. I encourage you guys to tell your friends about this site if you haven't already (i told 2 of my friends last night, one joined: Forgetful Remembrance). This is one of the best writing forums I have come upon, and I wish there was more feedback to poetry, short stories, etc. I'm sure this post has already been done many times, but this is coming from the crazy pessimistic 14 year old with the flashy avatar.

Don't forget that WritingForums.com is connected to Lit.org, which has been going much longer, and has a lot more members. Most of the members here on the forums are also members there, but there's a lot of people at lit.org who don't visit the forums at all.

Oh yes. Most certainly. Word-of-mouth is one of the most effective advertising methods, in any field. If you like it, tell people.

The Lit.org side also has much more activity when it comes to comments on people's work.

Myself, I much prefer reading stuff on the Lit.org site rather than Writingforums (something about the layout of the site makes it easier to read), so I comment on writing there much more than here.

Also, all my poetry, stories, articles, etc are posted on Lit.org and not on the forums, so if you want to read any of my stuff, you'll have to go there.

No, it isn't. That's really what the forums are for. As Chrispian puts it: "Lit.org is a boot camp for writers; WritingForums.com is the mess hall."

A pretty good way of putting it, that.

Kujo~

I would agree that the forums are a bit more relaxed than Lit.Org, but I have been a regular user and contributor for well over a year now and have yet to see anyone be as harsh as the example you posted. We have our share of people who are a bit harsh from time to time, but as time goes on I would venture to say that every site gets their fair share. So give it a shot, I doubt you'll be disappointed if you are as active in that community as you are in this one.

Of course, not all those 1418 members are actually active, but I then, not all 220 members here are active either. And there's plenty of action there - a sizable proportion of those 4667 posts are well worth reading.

I would suggest Lit.org, certainly, I have yet to get a review I've learned nothing from.
