Thread: Looking for Writers/Bloggers.

Hey guys,

I started a writing blog/site about a month back. My vision for the site is for it to contain numerous a myriad of helpful posts on writing from skilled and insightful writers.

So, I'm currently looking for writers who believe in the vision of the site to contribute to the site, called coffeeshopdaily, in the form of articles, interviews, etc. Topics are anything writing related, including publishing, self-publishing, the writer's life, etc. I've currently got one writer working on a post for Sunday, and another who has agreed to write some posts.

And how in the world is it any different to this site? To my knowledge, you can do all of those things here.

In the same way that Nathan Bransford, Rachelle Gardner, David Kubicek and J.A. Konrath's websites are different to here. Some people prefer websites that let them get directly at the information instead of sifting through 25 pages of tangents for the 10 posts that had clear, concise points worth reading. I think it's a bit rude to post in this topic with nothing more to say than "Your site is pointless." If you don't think it's worth your time, then don't waste your time on it. If you don't mind, I'd rather you didn't waste mine.

I think it's a good idea. Somebody mentioned something similar to me a while back, about some of my posts on publishing methods and industry standards. I don't have a lot of time on my hands right now or I would definitely be interested. How much time would you be looking writers to put in?

Right, sorry. It's late.

As far as time goes, it's entirely up to you. If you wanted to write up one post, or write a sixteen-post series, it would all be the same to me as long as the writing is good and makes for insightful reading. The site doesn't have a ton of readers at the moment, but I've had several people share the more popular articles over Twitter, Facebook and two forums, so I'm hoping to gain some traction as more articles come out. I've had to take some of this week off to reorganize things, but I'm going to hit the ground running tomorrow and get some more articles scheduled.

Is there a kickback to the contributors?

No, there's no monetary compensation.

On an unrelated note, we now have articles from 3 contributors other than myself, including WF's own Dan DeWitt. I really like the way the site is going, and I've got big plans for the future.

Hey, Heavy (Thorn), I too have a blog on writing (not strictly for storys, but writing in general). Mine's just started, and I'd love to, if you'd allow me to, guest blog on yours. You can check it out on my signature (pretty immoral, eh?). It's fairly minimalist but still's doing pretty good for having *just started*. What do you say? Or, what'd I have to do to start writing on your blog? Can I contact you via email by any chance?
