Sci-Fi Australian Publishers
Here I am, still twiddling my thumbs waiting to find a good Australian publisher who will publish sci-fi. I'm not the best writer in the world, but I think I'm good enough to be published. But what are the best sci-fi publishers in australia for me, pref. sydney based, as its my closest capital city??
Australian members please help another Australian member.

The publisher doesn't necessarily need to be based in your capital city, it doesn't really matter where they're based because you aren't really going to go to their offices in person.
For short stories, I suggest to get yourself down to a newsagent or Borders and looking through their sci-fi magazines. If you find a magazine that is suited to your themes, then ring them up or email them and ask if they're interesting in publishing short fiction.
For novels, look up agents online and find ones that are primarily interested in sci-fi.

And search engines are hopeless when trying to find niche Australian things.

There's loads of info all over about Australian markets and the good news is that if you're Australian, you have a good chance of being accepted; most Oz mags only accept Oz writers. Good for Aussie writers, bad for everyone else, including readers; the quality bar is quite low in most cases.
