    The Dark Knight Rises

So, now that some of the dust has settled, where does the film stand? A lot of people say they appreciated the movie much more on a second viewing. Did you find that to be the case? I can't think of a film in recent memory that's been so divisive among movie geeks.

I've only seen it once, but count me on the side of those who were thoroughly satisfied. Did I love the movie? Love is a strong word, but I thought it held up very well as the capper to an awsome series. Granted, the Dark Knight was probably a little better, but I do find it weird how some bloggers slammed TDKR for all it's narrative "problems" while turning a blind eye to similar issues in TDK. Consistancy, please.

Anyway, it's just something I've been thinking about.

Saw it on release day and I have to say I was greatly satisfied. It stands up as my second most favorite movie of all time, right behind The Empire Strikes Back.

Thought it was brilliant. Good acting, good plot. Tom Hardy did an excellent Bane and it combined a lot of comic elements.

The only little thing that always amuses me is that they always put men who are obviously lifting weights in a prison where they're meant to be poorly fed and confined lol.... that always tickles me but other than that it was great

Yeah, for all the talk of hell on earth, that prison didn't seem half bad: cable television, an in-house doctor, life-affirming fellow prisoners and plenty of free time out of the cell.

Tom Hardy did a good job as Bane, though the facemask made it almost impossible for him to act. He had to rely on his voice and his body-language--which he did a good job with.

The first Bane versus Batman fight was terrific. The second fight was kind of a dud for me.

I wish they had given Gary Oldman (Commissioner Gordon) a bigger role, though. He only really had one scene where he was able to show off his terrific acting, and even that scene was really brief.

Michael Cain (Alfred) was amazing as always.
