Amazingly, many of them were accurate; as predictions go.
And more accurate than predictions made in the 1960s.

I'd kill for a blueberry scroll, or maim for a apple one. Alas...
Corretion: It's predictions of 2001 made in 1901.
I enjoyed reading all of them.Where are these pneumatic tubes?! I demand we invent them, post haste!
And it's time we obliterate horses! And exterminate all insects! Blueberries the size of apples, and peas the size of oranges!
I like how we failed in enhancing our natural world, but we exceeded the technological predictions (with our airplanes, subways, cell phones and the internet).
Oh yeah, my favorite:
The Grand Old Opera will be played in all households!
And it will cost ONE PENNY for a trip downtown.
If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.

how do you know its 1901 kyle? i put 1911 for 2011 because that's what the title said! do you have insider info on that?
1901 does make more sense, now that i think about it, because i'm pretty sure powered flight was becoming a part of public consciousness in 1911 after the wright brothers' flights, and there's no mention of it in the article, whereas they do mention airships. i did think that was strange.

also the parts about store purchases being by tube and giant strawberries brought a tear to my eye, for some strange reason. i guess because it seemed like an idea that only a far more innocent time could value.

Yeah, whoever made the website titled it wrong. In the first paragraph the author mentions:
forecast...what.. will have been wrought before the dawn of 2001 -- a century from now
If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.

good eye, sniper.
that'll teach folks like me not to skip introductions...

I miss those "hello girls" at the telephone exchanges.
Well, strawberries mightn't be as large as apples, not today's apples aren't the same as 1901's either. And yes, I've seen 2 strawberries take up a majority of a small punnet. By 1901 standards, strawberries are huge; and tasteless.
Edit : Of course, the whole thing could be a fake.

The pneumatic tube delivery system was probably inspired by the in-store pneumatic tubes that used to link sales floors to the offices. When I was a kid such tubes were used in all the large department stores. Cash was not kept on the sales floor. The sales assistant put the customer's money and a bill in a little round container, put that into the tube, and air pressure carried it upstairs to an office where the money was collected. The little container would then return with the customer's change and a receipt. I can remember being fascinated by the system when I was a child. I haven't thought about them for donkey's years. Thanks for that.

It would be difficult now to make our own predictions for a hundred years hence, without being extremely gloomy.
...mind you, The New Scientist had an article saying there is already a sixty year old that will live to a hundred and fifty, and someone born today will live to be five hundred. (I imagine they'll need to be rich).
The Backward Ox will become High Chancellor Palpatine.
The Jedi Order will fall
The Galaxy will plunge into civil war
