Favorite Pens.. do people still write on paper!?

Seriously, do people actually still write on paper? My boyfriend gave me the idea for this post... but I am incredibly picky about which pen I use. My favorite is the Pentel R.S.V.P ball point, medium (not sure exact size) with a colored barrel. When I type I use a mac book pro and yes I will fight to the death in a war against macs and PCs; represent. But anyways, if you do use pens which is your favorite?

I still write, fiction at least, in marble front composition books with pilot razor point pens (black ink). My creativity just seem to dry up at the keyboard. I can easily write non-fiction in front of the keyboard, though.

I write in my notebooks as much - if not more - as I type on my Macbook Pro. I love pens that leave dark, heavy ink all over my hands. I love dark blue or black ball point pens or sharp pens where the ink just flows right out whenever I write.

I don't have a favourite, so to speak, but I always write with black ink roller-balls, gel pens, or some other easy-flow pen. I cannot stand writing with a biro!

I really enjoy using fountain pens, though I can go through one ink pellet a sessions, so I end up exhausting my supply.

I had a Parker pen for twenty years. Lost it, replaced it with a red Parker instead of gold. (For the record, I would write with crayons if I had to....)

I'm a journalist. It took a few years to develop the ability to compose my stories at the computer. I still enjoy taking notes with my Uni-Ball pen and composition book when interviewing people. And even though I go on the 'net to compile information for the calendar of events segment of my radio show, I still jot down the info and read from my handwritten notes on the air.

I have three gorgeous pens on my desk, each one given to me by author friends. As for actual writing. Are we talking inside or out?-- because I live in Canada, this is winter, baby, and let me tell you no pen will work outside right now. So for the SUV, I have pencils and, yes, actual paper. Inside, I use a notepad and a papermate... if I use a pen at all—I've been writing via the computer for so long now that my penmanship is barely legible, even to me.

Gel pens, though I mostly type now. My handwriting is not very good, and my hands tend to shake.

I'll scribble ideas on the back of a receipt that's floating around in my purse with an eyeliner-stick or a lipstick-tube, if I have to.

I don't care what I use, I have scraps everywhere with ideas/words/phrases... I don't need a lucky pen or something like that. I just use what's handy.

I use whatever is handy, but if I buy a pen it's usually a Signo uni-ball in as fine a tip as I can get and I prefer black. Fine or extra fine is a remnant from my bean counter days, I'm sure. I have tablets, pencils and pens scattered throughout the house, RV and car, handy for when a scene takes over my mental process. (I use the term mental process loosely.)

When I write on paper, yes I do occasionally, I prefer Sharpie pens. Any of their fine-point, non-bleeding pens are nice. I prefer the ones with the black body and silver cap and back. Ink color depends on the day, what I am writing on, and what I am writing, and my mood.

I usually write in notebooks with a mechanical pencil when ideas flow. I also keep another written record of all my works in black ink (Black Reynolds Racer Gel II ).

I keep pocket notebook and pencil on hand 24-7; have done since infant one school days. See avatar. I'm not fond of ball point pens, and haven't used a real pen since uni days. I remember being criticised for 'going modern' by using a cartridge pen instead of a fountain pen. Any kind of ink pen can quit in the field at the worst moments, so that's why I stick with pencil and keep a supply of .5 mm lead on hand. I don't know who makes the pencils. What would it matter?

I sometimes use my stepmother's 1930's Parker, I also use a modern Parker and Waterman, both with broad nibs - There is something so much more satisfying about using a pen, it requires more control, more care.
