Name ten things you want to do before you die ?

My daughter wants me to jump out of a plane next spring to celabrate her 21st birthday. I have in the past wanted to do a parachute jump but never got around to it, so now at the grand age of 51 i have my daughter and son wanting me to join in the fun. hahahaha lucky me. This got me wondering what i really want to do before i get to old or die ? So here is my top ten

1 Jump out of a plane and survive (please god)

2 Go to India and Tibet traveling.

3 Learn to play the piano and guitar better.

4 Go see Bruce springsteen live in concert

5 Finish working and do things i want to do rather than the things i have to do now to make a living.

    6 Own a dog.

7 Finish the book and maybe see it published.

8 Fly over the Grand canyon in a helicopter.

9 Take a long journey right around the coast of Austraila seeing all the sites.

10 Work for a charity shop in the book section hahaha sounds ideal for me.

Ok thats mine now whats yours ?

Wake up for at least my next 10 birthdays... Or:

    Drive a 250F Maserati

Drive a bobsleigh down the cresta run

Be at the controls of a light aircraft (Something I haven't done since about 1950)

    Sail round Britain

    Learn to play the ukulele

    Cook the perfect curry

    See my daughter happily married

Sell our house for a bundle and buy a smaller one in the country leaving lots of cash to have fun with

    Get some poems published....... somewhere!

    I know it's only 9, but I'm pretty content.

Thanks Mr Bloggsworth.... interesting to see how others rate things in life. Flying a plane sounds like a real blast i could go for that one.

    1. Have some short stories published in magazines or anthologies that would look decent on a writing cv. Win a writing competition.

    2. Have a novel(s) published and sell a few.

    3. Visit the Falkland Islands.

    4. Live in Normandy for a while.

    5. Drive / own a Dodge Charger (1969/70). If I owned one it would be customised in the colours of a certain football team and used to follow them around the country.

    6. Drive across America (Maine to Washington state), then maybe come back across Canada.

    7. Find time to do an art project or two.

    8. Drive the Nurburgring.

    9. Visit the Austrian alps, ending up with a swim at Zell am See.

    10. Cure my fear of flying so I don't have to drive everywhere.
The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of schoolboy rallies the ranks,
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"

If I ever plan to motor west, I'll take the highway that's the best, I'll take a trip down route 66... That's my 10th.

    1. Find my old E-type and get it restored. It will probably need it by now.
    2. Spend a year touring Ireland, Scotland, England, and Wales.
    3. Visit the continent, spending most of the time in Italy and Sicily.
    4. Visit India and pay return visits to Singapore, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Viet Nam, and the Phillipines.
    5. Spend a couple of years in Ghana teaching English as a second language.
    6. Finish and publish A Missionary's Tale.
    7. Try to think of four more things to do.

I made a list of things I want to do before I die and add to it/remove things from it depending (example, diagnosed with crohn's so had to get rid of fast for 48 hours and go vegetarian/vegan for a month because both could be very dangerous for me). I started it after my sister and I were in a bad car crash (both fine luckily, car was totalled)

    In no order
    Skydive
    Travel around Japan
Visit Socotra Island (I don't know if they allow visitors, still be cool to go)
Have a book published (and make enough to fund the list)
    learn fencing/archery
    expierence weightlessness
    get a tattoo
Stargaze in the nevada desert (gamble in vegas/get married in vegas)/see northern lights.
    watch every james bond film
build a snow cave (& not sufficate)

There's loads more on the list but these are the ones that jumped out at me as I flicked through

Hmmm... I don't know if I'll be able to come up with ten, but here goes. In no particular order:

    1. Publish a novel.
    2. Ride a horse on a beach.
    3. Take a road trip on I-80 from the east coast of the US to the west coast.
    4. Cook and eat Turducken.
    5. Swim in the ocean. (I've flown over it, boated over it, seen it from a distance, but never been in it.)
    6. Meet Christopher Hitchens, or at least go to one of his debates (which unfortunately should be phrased "Before he dies.")
    7. See the pyramids in Egypt (also visit New Zealand and Alaska and Hawaii).
    8. See Therion live.
    9. Hold a tiger cub. And a wolf pup.
    10. Witness thunder snow.
Remember why you like to read, and inundate your writing with your love of story. No great writer ever found reading a chore.

Most of it's torn up these days. Still a good trip, and you can visit most of it by taking I-55 from Chicago and following the signs from St. Louis on. I've done it several times. Likewise the I-80 trip. Both are spectacular in terms of scenery, though you want to be careful to do them during late spring or summer because the weather can be an issue.
    1. I'd like to buy an RV and do the trip again, taking time to visit the minor and major league ballparks along the way (or close), staying at the little motels, and enjoying the roadside diners (those that still exist, mostly in Missouri and Oklahoma).
    2. I'd love to visit Chicago one more time, spend a few weeks there with my wife, who has never been there for more than a few hours, and show her all of the sights, eat all of the wonderful Chicago food, walk our feet off in the museums and institutes and zoos.
    3. I want to brew my own beer. I keep putting it off.
    4. I want to own a home. We're working on that.
    5-10. Undetermined at press time.

My list is partially complete, having started it early in life. So major things already done
    1. live overseas (Libya, Malta, Sumatra)
    2. Visit Europe and Asian countries
    3. Take a genealogical trip through mid-west and east.
    4. Go on motor home tour of Alaska (53 days)
    5. Ride in a glider
    6. Drive a race car

Those are the ones I've already done.
    Still to do:
    7. Spend the night in a haunted house (2012) Waiting for the new schedule to come out for next year.
    8. Go on Antelope Canyon Jeep Tour
    9. Visit Mount Rushmore
    10. Get published

Well... I guess for me, Bluesman, it would be repair the damage I've caused between me and my parents. That would be #1 along with repenting to the author of the world for all the shortcomings and wasted opportunities I've had - basically offenses against him/her.

Maybe in continuing order would be.

#2. Increase my hand-to-hand combat skills up to a journeyman level and obtain a black belt in at least one martial art (likely Brazilian Jujitsu or Doce Pares Eskrima).

#3. Speak and write in Spanish and Portuguese.

    #4. Publish one book.

#5. learn to read music and play Jazz piano at a very novice level.

I have some strong desires (physical too) related to sex and romance but I'm not sure how or where I would rate that now, especially in light of my want #1 I posted above.
