    The “Why can’t they?” thread.

Some people say that it is a product of old age; but I swear I have been saying, “Why can’t they?” most of my life. I do think the reasoning has got better; some of the early ideas were a bit wild. I don’t look for answers to this sort of questions, sometimes I even know them, the satisfaction lies in asking the question.

    Here is my first example:-
Why do they only put half the amount of milk you need for a cup of tea in those little plastic ‘individual’ milk containers? It means you always have to open two.

    Please feel free to contribute.

It may be half what you need, but it is about 4 times as much as I need...

plastic containers are as bad as those who made them.
the person behind the idead obviously has no idea of measurement or tea/coffee drinking.

They were invented by a race of tiny mice. To them, that's a silo of milk.

Or it could be to save money. The cost of the plastic for a second cup is probably a lot less than the milk that would be left over if the cup was bigger, considering processing, transport, etc.

Why can't people help skipping bits when they read the OP?

Unless of course you are not really looking to answer me just exercising the pleasure of inventing possibilities.

Well I do like to babble. *smug*

If you wanted to ask a question, you didn't need to go past the question, "Why?"

I believe it covers all the bases.

For me, the satisfaction isn't actually in figuring out the questions, although admittedly, I find some to be absolute gems. It's the ominous "they" everyone refers to, it's dead amusing. My mum asks at least twelve of these questions daily, she'd be a good contributor to the thread. Anyway...

Why the fuck do they make the packages for earphones so incredibly difficult to open?

Why can't they let me wake up at 7:15 and not 6:30, when I need to be at trade by 8? (It's literally a two minute walk from my bedroom door, the glories and pitfalls of living on center. Waking up at 6:30 entails me standing outside my trade building for roughly an hour, in the cold biting winds, dark gloom and sometimes chilled rain of morning.)

because whoever thought out this product has very little faith in people and therefore hardly faith or belief in himself.
they do say you are what you make.
a difficult box to open a more difficult brain to unravel.
I won't buy the stuff if I were you.
buy something easy to handle I say.

I'm at a vocational training center, and I live on center with about 500 other students. It's a national unchangeable rule that we have to be up and out of bed by 6:30, even though that's an hour and a half before our vocation ( or trade) begins. It takes me MAYBE 20 minutes to get up, get dressed, get ready, eat breakfast and stand outside my trade building. It's a ridiculous rule that I've already recieved a citation for.

They only require us to be up during the work week at 6:30, and they can make whatever rules they want as long as their not extravegantly idiotic, because this is free schooling for us students and they actually pay us to be here. It's called Job Corps if you wish to look it up. And if I moved out, I'd either go back to my mothers house with no future, or be on the streets, homeless. So this place is kind of a good thing, even if it is stupid at times. But hey, not supposed to look a gift horse in the mouth, right?
