During the first week of November I'll move from Consejo Village, population just over one hundred, to Corozal Town, population about ten thousand. Going from a rural fishing village to a major urban centre will require some adjustment.
A move of some sort is made necessary because of plans by the landlord to tear out the wooden centre section of the house I've lived in for the past two-and-a-half years and replace it with concrete. Given a lack of other suitable housing in the village, a move to town is logical.
Some time will be required to get used to the busy streets, the bright lights, the hustle and bustle of urban living.
