    What's on your iPod?

I'll be the first to admit that mine is loaded with a bunch of Disney songs.

I've got a mix of everything, excluding country. I think I've got 2,500 songs on it right now. I have the three full seasons of Glee, and the musical episode from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. If there's a song that's topping the charts, it's likely on it, (including Justin Bieber, his songs are totally catchy). Anything with a good dance beat that I can workout to, and many, many, songs from the 80s.

I still do. If you want me.” ― City of Glass by Cassandra Clare.

Sunny, it sounds like you've stolen my daughter's iPod.

First, I don't own an iPod, nor an "i" anything. I'm a P.C. guy. Always have been. I had a Creative Labs MP3 player long before most people knew you could keep music on a computer.

I'm edging-up on 12,000 tracks on my MP3 collection. NONE were purchased from itunes. Pretty much every genre, but I'm light on the classical (sorry, the stuff makes me wanna nap). Heavier on 70's & 80's rock. A lot of punk. Country & Blues. Some Pop, Reggae n' Soul.

I shuffle them onto the memory of my 'dumb phone'. I get random playlists like The Sex Pistols, Johnny Cash then Nina Haagen.
    It's scary musical gumbo.

Hi, Winston. Are you refering to Justin Bieber? lol. My thirteen-year-old niece is obsessed with him, so I blame her that I'm now addicted to his music. I can't help it, I like what I like and I'll listen to what makes me happy. (Yes, I get made fun of all the time for listening to it.)

I also like to drive with my music loud, and I like to sing along. I embarrass the heck out of my other niece, who's fifteen if she's with me. She doesn't like Justin Bieber and I'm sure she's afraid her friends will see her in a car blasting "baby, baby, baby, ooooooh" out the windows. lol

And, holy wow... 12,000 tracks? That's a lot of songs! I guess you don't get too many repeats with that on shuffle.

The only portable sound device I have is my right ear with its constantly shifting tinnitus. All sorts of interesting effects there.

I saw Constantly Shifting Tinnitus play last New Year's Eve. They opened for Gout and Phlebitis. That show rocked!

Everything from Miles Davis to Hendrix to Pearl Jam to The Avett Brothers. Couldn't be without it.

And a good opportunity to say hats off to Steve Jobs. Even people who eschew Apple products feel his influence -- invariably the products they use were reactions to things he made accessible or pioneered. A true visionary -- and one of the few who deserves to be called genius. I rarely feel the loss of "celebrities" but this one really hit me -- considering how much his products have been a factor in how I do my job and how I listen to and enjoy music.

"The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come. For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it’s been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely."

What's on my iPod? 20GB of the most uneclectic mix since Green Day mated with Alanis to the theme from West Side Story

I hate heavy rock, so if it doesn't fit that category, it is probably on there.

What's getting heavy play? Plan B, Adele, the new Radiohead, Stones, Belleruche, tons of French Lo-Fi jazz.

I lied about the heavy rock - just as Queens Of The Stone Age come over the speakers... I guess I mean I hate heavy metal and long-haired guys in tights screaming over the top of incoherent guitar played WAY too close to the bridge!

Does AC/DC count? I give a pass to anything from the Antipodes - except South African rock - that stuff is dire! No problem with folk music from down that way or even pop/rock, but the heavy thrash-metal I have heard is positively speaker-breaking. Not that the music breaks speakers - I would, to get away!
