For me I think it's got to be Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers. There are a lot of reasons but I think the battle of Helm Deep says it all really.

In first place is Slingblade, a masterpiece of writing and acting, due to the genius of Billy Bob Thornton. Second place is a tie between Blast from the Past and Joe vs. the Volcano (a very misunderstood movie with some of the best lines anywhere).

Shallow Grave. A seriously disturbed British film about three room-mates who find their new room-mate dead with a case full of cash under the bed - presenting them with a dilemma.

    Vanishing Point.

The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of schoolboy rallies the ranks,
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"

Have you seen Fargo? For best Coen Bros movie it trumps No Country for me.

Very hard for me to pick a fave as I'm a bit of a cinephile. At the end of the day it's gonna be Shawshank Redemption followed by Anchorman.
Let's see if my above post is deleted without explanation. Wouldn't be the first time.

I can't really pick favorites. Here's a fraction of my favorite films:

The Star Wars Saga (even the rather bad Prequels)
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
    All the Harry Potter films
    Die Hard
    Alien
    Aliens
    Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Both Chris Nolan Batman films (with a third coming next year!)
Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan
    Star Trek: First Contact
    Star Trek (2009)
    Cloverfield
    Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Everything Pixar
    How To Train Your Dragon
    RED
    A Christmas Story
    All Pirates of the Caribbean
    Despicable Me
    Rango
    Red Dawn
True Grit (the original and remake)

I love movies. Stories, books. I have to many to name, but I've probably seen The Princess Bride more than any other movie. Seen Fire and Ice an awful lot too though.

I can't recall this film at all ? I'll have to look it up and take a peek. The untouchables is another movie which springs to mind as a great movie.
