Thread: The Pros and Cons of WRITING?

In two sentences or more, what do you think are the advantages and disadvantages of writing?

Pros

• The satisfaction of getting lost in a world you've created.
• The ability to make anything happen.
• That feeling you get when everything starts to come together towards the end of another story/novel.
• The joy of creating characters, both good and evil.
• That indescribable feeling when someone tells you: "Man, I couldn't put your novel down!"

Cons

• Having people look at you with bewilderment when you tell them you're an author.
• Trying to explain to a random stranger what your novels are about.
• Getting published.

I’ve printed small cards with the explanation on them, along with cards that say what I do for a living, and another that answers the question, “Where are you going with that gun in your hand?”
