    Unhappy Why can't I post a poem?

I am all registered and ready to go. I even paid $3 for the first month. Just now I tried to post a poem in the Poetry section, but got a message saying I did not have permission to do so. Why did this happen and how can I fix it?

    Hi,

I'm not a moderator but my understanding is you need to post 10 quality replies to other poets before you can post.

This is so that people don't come in, dump a lot of work here, get reviews, and then leave without being contributing members. It is in no wise personal.

    Hi Phyllis

AstroAnnie has called it right. A good way of building up your post count is to offer critiques of posted works in the area you plan on posting. When you post, other members will be more likely to offer critiques of your work in return. Avoid one liners like, "I really liked this poem," as there is nothing constructive in these.

Have a gander at the site rules. There's advice there on posting in the creative boards, using disclaimers for language, and the like.

Any queries, pop a PM in the post to one of the moderators.

    Good luck on the site.

The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of schoolboy rallies the ranks,
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"
