Playing music on the keyboard or guitar badly.
Playing music on the keyboard or guitar badly.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird that sings.
Sometimes all our thoughts are misgiven.
When I am slightly down, which is not very often I have to admit,( I won't let it simple as) I jump on my bike and go for a ride.
Then in the evening I chill out with a glass of red wine and most of all make conversations with my partner.
But I tend to try and write or chat..it is the best way out for me.![]()
“The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn, the bird waits in the egg, and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.” ~ James Allen
"Use what talents you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best." ~ Henry Van Dyke
Listening to to some epic soundtracks or any of the bands I like seems to work.
"When I am gone, it won't be long before I disturb you in the dark."
Excellent music, talking to family members who refuse to let things get them down, walking/playing with my dogs, spending time with my horses (there's nothing quite like the peace found by being out in the country, and by being around 1,000 plus pound animals who actually enjoy your company as much as you enjoy theirs).
How To Get Critiques On Your Work: WF is very much a give and take community, meaning the best way to get constructive critiques and comments on your work is to give them to others.

Double black coffee, some cigarettes and good music or a good guitar.
As most people here, music is definitely the key out of sadness for me. That, and chocolate. And whiskey. And a couple of trashy browser games, like World of Tanks. Scribbling mindlessly for a few hours helps remove some of the angst too!![]()

City winning. The Stone Roses very loud. Getting lost in a good book. Delving into my library of dvds.
But most of all, watching my daughter play with her toys, laugh at her mum and dad, and generally seeing her grow from a toddler into a proper walking and talking little person.
The sand of the desert is sodden red, -
Red with the wreck of a square that broke; -
The Gatling's jammed and the colonel dead,
And the regiment blind with dust and smoke.
The river of death has brimmed his banks,
And England's far, and Honour a name,
But the voice of schoolboy rallies the ranks,
"Play up! play up! and play the game!"

Nature, either looking at it or walking in it. Writing. Talking. Prayer, and trying to get my perspective back. Sometimes music or food.
Live music in concert, even if it’s not big name band or shooting one of my guns.
If any of my post offends you, please tell me why, I could use a good laugh.
Watching Disney movies in my pajamas while snuggling with my dog and/or painting my nails. I'm such a typical girl.
Also, exercise.
A psychologist friend of mine used to offer unasked-for observations. He once called me a flat-line personality without the normal ups and downs. Contentment is my everyday condition, and I never stray more than half a step above or below that line. So if I ever do become sad, I'll have not a clue about a cure.
