Some things in life are simply a must.

I like heinz beans, i don,t like any other beans other than Heinz. I don't think it's to much to ask in life, some things to me are simply a must. However my wife after 26 years seemed to think she could feed me some other make of beans and she thought i wouldn't notice !!

More the fool her, i took one mouth full and said these are not Heinz. My wife had been watching me knowing what she had done and she burst out laughing at my dismay. I refused to eat the imposters which i think she bought just because they were cheaper to buy.

I have stated my case and have told her the Heinz stay or she will be replaced with a new model wife who understands my simple needs.

Some things in life are simply a must, wouldn't you agree ? My question is, do you have anything in life thats simply a must ?

Yes, absolutely. I always make sure my wife thinks that it is her idea...

Pespi does it for me. No thank you to Coca-Cola or other imposters and keep that diet stuff away. Give me Pepsi and I'm happy!

^^^Funny how I'm the opposite; Coke is only the only cola, no Pepsi, no knock offs.

I don't smoke anymore, but if i did, I'd say the only cigarette for me is an unfiltered Camel whenever I'm away from the New Orleans area and can't get Picayunes.

It's got to be Coke. Or Co'Cola as the old timers say around here -- the birth place of the stuff. You'd be hard pressed to find Pepsi in any restaurant around here -- unless it's a chain. Pepsi is too sweet for me -- just doesn't have the same bite, doesn't give you that little burn at the back of the throat when you take your first gulp.

Otherwise, there are certain things I do stick with -- Dukes mayonnaise -- another southern staple. Heinz ketchup. Kraft Macaroni and cheese. Campbell's tomato soup. As I'm writing this, it's dawning on me, these are all things I grew up with -- so I suppose tradition and familiarity have a lot to do with it.

There must be good coffee. I refuse to drink Chase and Sanborn or any other cheapo brand. Yuban is my preference, as it is (or was) cheap and good. Now all coffee is hideously overpriced. I shop for sales and stock up on Yuban and Folger's Black Silk, my favorites among mass-market brands.
I enthusiastically endorse Coke. Pepsi tastes like mouthwash. When I was a kid, the in-house battle was between RC (which my mother liked) and Coke. Pepsi wasn't even considered.
One must also have a good grade of chocolate and access to news of some kind. Towels, clean water and soap and an inclination toward the use of same get high marks in my book. Anything else would be uncivilized.

Thomy's mayo and a roasted blend are required to get me through the day. That, and always answering the home phone. It's a must. That, and playing browser games. I'm a bit of a self-proclaimed geek and any day that goes by where I don't get my hit of Diamond Dash, Ghost Recon Online or any other browser based game is a wasted day. Yup, I'm a nerd at heart.

Oh, yeah. Coffee is something I don't skimp on -- although I try to find the best value. I get it at Costco these days. They roast it fresh on-site. I think it comes to about 4.50 a pound, and you buy it in 2.5 bags. The french roast is great. It's as good as coffee that costs twice as much elsewhere. To me, none of the national brands measure up and I never buy coffee at the grocery store. Prior to Costco, I bought it from a mom and pop coffee roaster near where we live. I've ordered it online and even bit the bullet and bought it at Starbucks when I was in a pinch. The Costco coffee is a great deal -- but I'd pay a lot more to get what I want -- it's one of the things where I just can't cut corners.

My tastes are expensive in dark chocolate, coffee, tea and beer... ok, maybe lots of things. I've decided I only like my husband's beer though. A beer of my own is uninteresting and I only really want part of the first half of the bottle anyway, when it is very cold. In this he shows his love.

I don’t have many must-haves but some name brand foods are it, especially Kraft macaroni and cheese. Oh, and when drinking it must be Bacardi rum. I even have the bat tattooed on the top of my arm.

If any of my post offends you, please tell me why, I could use a good laugh.
