Maybe it,s just me but everytime i want to write my family want to talk to me!
It,s so frustrating, i want to be left alone to do my thing.
So where and when do you write ? and people bug you when your trying to focus.

Hmm, I write in my room in the attic and usually don't get bothered too much. As for when, I mostly write when I am in a emotionally heightened state - both good and bad work fine - but there is no specific time of day or year.
Who is bugging you? Do you have little kids trying to use you for alpine climbing exercise?

Can't write in peace and quiet, my mind goes walk about. I need something to concentrate through, I can write in Starbucks, when the television is on, when there's something going on outside.

I have a wife and she loves to chat to me, what more can i say..... other than she falls asleep at 10pm !!! lucky me![]()

I seem to only be able to write when I'm alone. When there are other people in the house, I can't write unless they're all asleep. If I'm writing at church, I make sure the room is isolated and gets no traffic. But I can't work in silence. I need to have music going on in order to work. Some here have heard samples of what I like. But that's a mere fraction of my musical tastes. The TV is too much of a distraction.

Heh. Actually, I can write under just about any conditions. Oddly, for me, having a baseball game on, either TV or radio is conducive to writing. I'm fine out in the den, on my laptop with the kids and all the goings on -- as long as no one is constantly interrupting me or trying to engage me in conversation. They all have a pretty good sense for when to leave me be, whether it's for work or writing. It's nice to have peace and quite, but I do OK without it.

I only write on a computer, which limits the "where" aspect of things. I generally do the outlining, planning, and general musing at work while some automated aspect of my work is going on in the background. For the actual writing, I go into my room, shut my door, turn on some vocal trance, and just write until I get bored or have to go to bed. I only have one roommate, and he does his own things when I'm writing, so there aren't really any distractions.
I like to write before work in the morning. My mind drums up so many ideas before falling asleep that I need to get up in the morning and write it all out. I have to be alone to write. I tried sitting with my good friend (who writes as well) at the table and I found we'd talk more than type. I can't feel what I'm writing if someone is in the room with me; I must be alone with my headphones plugged in and listening to loud music.
“And now I’m looking at you,” he said, “and you’re asking me if I still want you, as if I could stop loving you. As if I would want to give up the thing that makes me stronger than anything else ever has. I never dared give much of myself to anyone before – bits of myself to the Lightwoods, to Isabelle and Alec, but it took years to do it – but, Clary, since the first time I saw you, I have belonged to you completely. I still do. If you want me.” ― City of Glass by Cassandra Clare.
I've recently moved to a new place (alone!) so I'm free from disturbance except when my cat's want to be feed. But then there's the phone. I nearly jump out of my skin when it rings when writing because when I do I'm basically in the "zone."
In my former home, my ex would enter my den which I called my "Sanctuary."hint. He never got it.
I found this door hanger which says "Do Not Disturb the Queen"and he knew what the Queen in me is like so I had hours of peace and quiet.
Cute. One of my cats loves to sit on my lap when I'm writing. My laptop cat.![]()
