Thread: Anybody have any use for redirection "yourname.loremaker.com" or another use?

Hi,
I just stumbled on the domain "loremaker.com" and, since it was unoccupied, registered it for my server. Now I am wondering if there is any interest in a URL redirection service, where you can sign up for

"yourname.loremaker.com"

and have it redirect to your website either inside a box to keep that URL on top or without to jump to your URL. Of course - no ads, no tracking cookies, no tempering of any sorts, just plain old redirection. Signing up would simply consist of putting in the "yourname" you want, the target, the kind of redirection and setting a password for being able to change it later.
This is strictly not a commercially-oriented idea, but just an offer from one writer to others, if there is any interest ^^

There is also nothing on the domain yet, because I just wanted to see if there is interest and did not want to create a shameless plug

Also, if somebody has another idea of what could be done with it which sounds good, I am quite willing to hand the domain over without profit. Most important is to keep it out of the hands of the grabbers that just put ad pages on the best names and ruin them for everybody who would make good use of them

Good for you! Like a digital robin hood I don't think my humble dabblings qualify me for the title 'loremaker' just yet, but I'm sure someone will definitely appreciate the domain.

Heh, not really, but it would be fun to see if maybe there is several people interested in the domain. If its something really good I will give it away for free (I just paid 15 bucks to register it so thats some value).

So let me know guys if you have an idea or if you prefer getting a subdomain. I kindof lack ideas of my own to use it, because I usually go for more... umm.. insane domain names for my own stuff ^^

Hmm if nobody has any use for it at the moment I will just keep it for later. Can maybe do some sort of contest and give the domain away as a prize. After all, I'm still convinced that it IS a very good one
