Question Writing Subgenre of Erotic Romance

I'm looking to write short stories at first with some explicit sex scenes much longer than others and more involved in plot. But this site appers to have no opening for erotica, and is very PG, if I put up a sample, should I block out most of the specific references to sexual acts? It will completely invalidate my plot lines if I try it, I'm sure. I'm just not sure how else to be able to get any peer critique?

Well, I don't know what to tell you. WF does not allow erotica, period. If blocking out isn't an option, then perhaps an adult erotica writing site might be a better match.

    Rules:

    • Erotic Material, Pornography, Obscene Material and Gratuitous Violence: Such material is not allowed. What is considered erotic, pornographic or obscene is up to staff and is not open to debate. It will be removed immediately.
    • Profanity: Within the Poetry and Prose areas, profanity is allowed in the presence of a proper disclaimer and language warning. In posts elsewhere, we request you respect the site's PG13 rating in all posts. We will notify you if the staff are required to remove one of your posts in line with this policy. We regret that repeat offenses can result in the suspension of your WritingForums.com Account.
How To Get Critiques On Your Work: WF is very much a give and take community, meaning the best way to get constructive critiques and comments on your work is to give them to others.

You could also share the parts in between, or try your skills at subtlety. I have the same problem. I would not call what I write erotica, per se, but as sex is part of life and a big factor in my plot, I don't leave it out, I treat it with the same attention I give every other part of the story. So when I asked for feedback here, it was on the other part of the story, and I just have to apply the concepts to those parts that are not for here. Probably if there are problems, they are going to be the same for the PG parts of your story as the R. I for instance have trouble with tense, and that goes everywhere throughout my writing.

Well, I may do some Victorian romance stuff and likely play with paranormal type stuff too. So I can post some of that apparently.
