Try To Guess the Author!
I have a great idea! I'll post the first few sentences of a favorite author of mine, and you will have to guess who he/she is just by observing the style and unique writing voice.
Once you get the correct answer, I'll tell you from what short story or book it came from, and we'll move onto the next author. You can join in on the fun, if you want to. Take turns.
"Such ordinary things make me afraid. Sunshine. Sharp shadows on grass. White roses. Children with red hair. And the name -- Harry. Such an ordinary name. Yet the first time Christine mentioned the name, I felt a premonition of fear."
Who is this author?
(Also, you need to provide the sentences from the very first chapter to make it easier to guess the right answer.)

Here is another one:
"When all is said and done, killing my mother came easily."
Who is this author?
This one should be easy. (It's by one of the most famous, recent novelist.)

trouble is this... you have to use really popular authors or else no one will get it.
let's try this... who wrote: "You want to be careful with those... when they say every flavor, they mean every flavor - you know, you get all the ordinary ones, like chocolate and peppermint and marmalade..."
